In 2012 Tim Persent, originally from South Africa, will mark the 25th anniversary of his dance career in The Netherlands. His inspiring personality and exceptional qualities have made Persent a true icon for dance. Holland Dance is devoting an evening to a dancer who has established his reputation in The Netherlands with his aura, musicality and impassioned presence on the stage.
A Dance Concert, a programme of short dance pieces, live music and film fragments, has been assembled by Persent himself. He is celebrating this anniversary with the audience that has supported him over the years, and returning to them those things which shaped him as a dancer. Persent presents the work of several of his greatest sources of inspiration, each one of which stands for high points in his career. The programme includes contributions by the choreographers Leine and Roebana, Ton Simons, Ann van den Broek, Richard Alston, violist Joost Keizer and soprano Claron McFadden. The director is Theu Boermans.
